GO Focus: The hardware-first privacy solution The GO Focus dash cam was purpose-built for environments that prioritise zero driver-facing recording. With no microphone or inward-facing camera, it provides a hardware guarantee against in-cab monitoring and biometric data collection. Additionally, the device is engineered to continuously overwrite footage from the road-facing camera, preserving data only when a safety event occurs or when the driver presses the “panic button”. This circumvents the concerns that arise from continuous recording.
Driver activated event capture button All GO Focus dash cams feature an event capture button that the driver can press to record a short video manually. The footage duration is long enough to capture the critical context of an event (like a near-miss or a dangerous incident), without recording excessive, unnecessary footage. This is designed to respect driver privacy while still providing the necessary evidence for safety and exoneration.

GO Focus Plus: For advanced AI coaching The GO Focus Plus solution includes road and cabin cameras with advanced AI coaching capabilities, and an optional auxiliary camera. The system utilises an event-triggered model, where video is uploaded to the cloud only when specific safety rules are met, keeping routine footage stored only on the local device. Customers can configure their own data retention periods for both cloud and edge data, as well as the length of footage before and after an event that’s uploaded to the cloud, addressing the GDPR principles of storage limitation and data minimisation. Information remains protected via robust encryption protocols throughout the cloud transit process and while stored on the device, adhering to rigorous AES-256 criteria. This model has several customisation options to allow fleets to activate only the features that match their specific policies created to align with necessary legislation and union or works council requirements: Lens-as-a-Sensor – In this mode, the inward-facing camera runs Geotab Video’s full Driver Monitoring System (DMS) AI stack to detect risky behaviours and deliver immediate audio alerts directly to the driver. No inward-facing video is ever recorded, stored, or uploaded, providing instant coaching without creating any in-cabin video record of the driver’s actions.
