Road-facing-only – GO Focus Plus is also available with just a road-facing camera. This version uses a “Road Driver Monitoring System (DMS)” to detect driver distraction and deliver in-cab coaching by analysing how well the vehicle is being driven (for example, lane keeping and similar driving indicators). As there is no cabin camera, no inward-facing video can ever be recorded, stored, or uploaded. The GO Focus Plus Road-Facing camera can be the starting point of a video telematics programme to build work council and regulator approval, as part of a long-term safety initiative. The device’s mini-USB port acts as an expansion port to plug in an auxiliary camera, such as an in-cab camera with AI-powered Driver Monitoring Systems or a rear-facing camera, without needing to hardwire completely separate camera systems into the vehicle. The GO Focus Plus can be customised to disable the microphone and/or in-cabin camera. Faces and license plates are blurred by default in Europe. This action is recorded within a comprehensive audit log.
GO Focus Pro: For 360-degree vision with advanced AI
The GO Focus Pro supports up to five weatherproof auxiliary cameras, providing complete coverage of the vehicle, driver, cargo, and surrounding environment. Its real-time AI safety features allow for the detection of traffic-light violations, forward-collision warnings, and vulnerable road users in blind spots. With full surround video coverage and advanced AI, GO Focus Pro gives fleets the visibility and intelligence needed to protect drivers, vehicles, and the communities they serve. The solution accelerates incident investigations, helps defend against unwarranted claims, and enables drivers to self-correct before high-impact events occur, reducing collisions, downtime, and overall operating costs. As with the Plus device, the GO Focus Pro utilises an event-triggered model, where video is uploaded to the cloud only when specific safety rules are met, keeping routine footage stored only on the local device. Customers can configure their own data retention periods for both cloud and edge data, as well as the length of footage before and after an event that’s uploaded to the cloud, addressing the GDPR principles of storage limitation and data minimisation. Information remains protected via robust encryption protocols throughout the cloud transit process and while stored on the device, adhering to rigorous AES-256 criteria. In specific cases, such as a request from governmental authorities, a MyGeotab user with a specific role can export unblurred videos from an event.
