Employee Engagement and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
• Continuously provide activities where Geotabbers can participate in Diversity and Inclusion educational activities such as Learning Live sessions, roundtable discussions and gender or cultural events to celebrate Black History Month, International Women’s Day, Pride and others.
In 2024, Geotab developed and implemented a new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy after a programme review and consultation. At Geotab, we believe that Inclusion is the magic that brings our global culture together. It’s the spark that ignites innovation and fuels creativity. Our differences can conquer the most complex challenges. Our goal is to craft a workplace where collaboration, trust and that warm sense of belonging aren’t just words but daily realities, empowering each and every one of our Geotabbers. Geotab's Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), with over 900 members, engaged employees with company-wide, educational communications on various days of recognition and remembrance throughout the year: • Geotab’s Veterans Programme : Recognises and supports the contributions of veterans and their families. This programme focuses on engaging veteran employees, partnering with veteran-owned businesses, developing veteran support and hiring initiatives, and extending support to military spouses and families. • Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; A Future to Build: a series of events and educational initiatives to celebrate the richness of Black History Month including weekly African and Caribbean meals and recipes.
• #IAmRemarkable: A workshop session hosted by Women@Geotab including discussions on self-promotion, practice sessions to articulate accomplishments and activities to enhance comfort with self-promotion. • The Human Library: A unique event where employees engaged in open dialogue to break down stereotypes and foster understanding through powerful personal stories.
• Pride and Paint Night: The LGBTQ+ and Allies ERG hosted an in-person social event to celebrate uniqueness and creativity. • Women@Geotab Speaker Roundtables: Thought-provoking discussions to exchange experiences and provide practical strategies, including ‘Find Your Vitamin Person’ and ‘Balancing Career Ambitions with Future Family Goals’. • Empowerment Expedition: Tool designed to help employees engage more meaningfully within the community through regular event participation and interactive posts. • Diwali Celebration: A celebration of the festival of lights with henna artistry, rangoli community art and an Indian-themed lunch at Geotab HQ. • The Campus programme brings in talented early-career professionals and engages them in community initiatives. In July, interns volunteered with a local food bank, supporting their mission to address food insecurity in the Peel Region and Greater Toronto Area. In October, interns helped pack over 1,200 items for charities supporting families and children. • Through our High School Outreach programme in 2024, Geotab hosted over 125 students at its head office for career insights, skills development & networking. Additionally, visits to local high schools reached 170 students in Grades 10–12. These visits were led by ten of our Geotab Campus Ambassadors. • GO Green offers Geotab employees the opportunity to contribute positively to the environment through action and education. In 2024, employees participated in several volunteer events to benefit their local community, including park clean-ups in Las Vegas, Waterloo and Oakville, as well as a volunteering event with Oakvillegreen to remove invasive plant species from greenspace. Employee efforts helped improve the urban forest ecosystem and increase local biodiversity.
