Track garbage trucks in near real-time : After identifying optimal routes and assigning them to specific trucks and drivers in your fleet, it’s important to monitor your waste collection vehicles’ positions as they complete their daily service. By unlocking near real-time visibility into your vehicles’ operations with your telematics solution, you can verify that drivers are adhering to their predetermined routes and that no unexpected delays are occurring. If a delay does occur, you can dispatch assistance to the truck and reassign another nearby available driver to complete the route (if their hopper has capacity). 4. Look for improvement opportunities : It’s critical to never stop striving to enhance your routing efficiency.
